we finished 2015 with a six-track jumbo ep from borrowed identity and thought we d repeat the same trick for 2016, though this time with originals from okayama-based producer keita sano. eye begins with keep an eye out, pt.2, a propulsive song that sounds like a lost contender for the knight rider theme. own signal keeps things dark, but with a spartan bleakness. the side finishes with smoker, another manic cut that ll give you chills. the flip finds keita exploring brighter sounds without losing that industrial, jagged edge. trmk is essentially a beat track that ll ignite any dance floor and fix is a herky-jerky ditty that ll get you stomping around the club like a possessed reveler. the 12inches cherry on top is think twice, a funky ass-shaker that centers around a crackly sample of crowd noise, a chopped-up disco vocal, and bouncy bass. a fiery finale for this hedonistic party.

stamp records delve into the past for their next release, giving a new lease of life to one of swayzak s least characteristic and most sought-after tracks. swayzak are true heroes of the uk underground, having clocked numerous seminal releases in the late 90 s and early 00 s straddling the grey area between house and techno. disco dub plate volume 2 - originally out in 2000 - was an obvious anomaly in the duo s discography, that has managed to forge a path of its own amongst a completely different crowd to swayzak s usual disciples. one cut from that ep, stronger love , is a carefully arranged marriage between a certain pair of quintessential aor darlings and the soul voice of the 80 s. can we be more specific? no can do...it shouldn t really work, but somehow it does! it s been caned by many a balearic dj over the years, including mark seven who included it in his mythical originals compilation, where it holds its ground amongst other balearic heavyweights. as an added bonus for this 2016 edition we re treated to two brand new mixes ! frank agrario teases in bits of the original making for his chunkier version that is aimed squarely at the dancefloor, while brun (1/2 of swayzak) delivers a bang up-to-date dub that keeps its elements to the bare minimum, building into a deep hypnotic house chugger.

this promising israeli talent delivers two slow burning tracks oozing with eastern influence and informed by the modern sounds of dance. part of the 84% creativity crew, naduve presents his second release with cocktail d amore in the form of a two track ep which revels in it s dark and seductive energy. -no good news- builds over it s 7-minute run layering mystic vocal synths and coupling them with splashing hats and tight shakers to give just enough beat driven energy to keep a crowd to attention. the flying guitars and staccato synths of a trip in tel aviv slither over half beat percussive structures to give this track a sinister feel ideal for late, late, late nights. wunderkind man power drops a tab on a trip, giving it a fresh take perfect for psychedelically inclined moments.

anton kubikov (half of scsi-9 duo) returns to mayak with a tripy two-tracker. strictly analog hardware polished by his talent delivered great groove. in is a classic house track with some acidelic touch, that will make crowd dance for whole 10 minutes, while out is a deep dub dive.

finale sessions is excited to have another parisian on our superb roster and janeret is not one to sleep on that s for sure. so we are getting right to the music with the first track midnight soul one of my favorites for sure with its beautiful keys and its rich pads and it s enormous bass this track is a latenight beater for sure. track two-contrast-is more on the techier side of things with more pads and a think basline no question a floor pumper it also has really nice drums to flavor that nice vocal. track three subdub this track is more for the dub techno crowd for sure with its super deep chords and its deep sub ambiance sound track four ehtereal electro madness is i am going to say

every artistic scene is lead by their artists and kept alive by their fans, but mostly by its talents, who can look outside of the box and have a great relationship with their crowd. junior c is a great example of how this theory comes true for a dj and producer. in this ep he has worked with h.o.s.h., gui boratto and gunjah to create new approaches of his latest single “coming over” and the result are 3 different interpretations of this dance floor timeless song, full of groove, lush harmonies and organic undertones. it doesn t take much to imagine this ep owning dance floors in the months and years to come. engineered to perfection by label head gui boratto, it s an exciting step for the imprint and the project alike.

three cuts of heady, cerebral bliss guaranteed to push any dancefloor a little further out into the interstellar, in russell s hands, clay wilson s e4 becomes a spaced-out stepper s delight. his rework of romans coptos lets the acidic undertones of the original run free while snappy percussion holds focus. and while were not one to pick favorites, russells remix of zemi17s rangda, stripped to its bare essentials, is almost a purer representation of the original than the original itself, designed to lift a willing crowd into a trance state

dj sounds presents moving, a 3 tracks record made for the dancers and the djs. track 1 -moving- is an elegant built around a filtered disco-ish sample, simple while very efficient. -casa suave- is a classic sounding house track, easy to spin and sure to please the crowd. closing the record, -fragments- is a bit slower and deeper with its roland pads and bass, still very danceable.
